when is the best time to post on social media platforms?

Changes to our circumstances mean changes to how we consume media and engagement rates. AKA, the best times to post on social have changed, as released by @sproutsocial in May.

Now take this with a pinch of salt. I am not trying to blow your mind to feel you have you throw everything you do out the door, it is just something to take into consideration. It is important that you post & engage in a way (and when) suits YOU & YOUR brand - in a way that is easy for you. Note, I am not posting this here at the optimum IG posting time - wild!

INSTAGRAM // similar to Facebook, the number of peak times to post on Instagram has increased, with 'working hours' weekdays seeing growth in engagement, with spikes Mon, Tues and Fri at 11am and Tues 2pm.

FACEBOOK // activity is now more consistently high during every weekday. Currently, the best times to post on Facebook are Mon, Wed & Fri from 10–11am. Though every day at 11am has a spike compared to the rest of the day.

TWITTER // Friday 9am is THE peak time to post on Twitter, but Fri 7-9am & Wed 9am also strong to post on this social media platform.

LINKEDIN // being a professionally oriented platform, LinkedIn has the least change. The best times to post on LinkedIn being Wed 3pm, Thu 9–10am. and Friday from 11 a.m.-noon.

So it's not gospel so that these are the times that you must post on specific social media platforms. It is interesting and it is a guide. Obviously, the more people posting at these times, the more content is flooded into the algorithm. So review your own engagement rates alongside this and YOUR audience and determine when is best for YOU.
